🚀 Recycling sediments with high organic matter content is possible!
Introducing the SEDIMEL 2 project 🌱
Following the success of the SEDIMEL 1 project—the creation of hydrocyls and a self-compacting sediment-based grout—the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL) continues to demonstrate its commitment and dedication through innovative circular economy approaches!
♻️ It's time to tell you about SEDIMEL 2: a project to develop two new formulations incorporating sediment in embankments and subgrades.
🎯 The objective? To explore the impact of organic matter on these formulations, in accordance with the performance expectations of current standards.
✅ The technical and environmental performance of the formulas has already been validated in the laboratory—next step: validate these hypotheses on a construction site!
🚧 A pilot project is currently being identified to test these performances in real-life conditions and create a greenway in the area.
👏 This exciting project would not be possible without the collaboration of several stakeholders: COLAS, EQIOM, A CRH Company, IMT Nord Europe, the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL), and NEO ECO.
